Team

The Proposition & Innovation team are responsible for delivering the commercial performance of the airline’s ancillary products today whilst helping the business prepare and shape the future. Ancillary revenue makes up a +£1bn business so what we do isn’t ‘ancillary’, it’s core to the airline and our profitability. It’s our job to have an end-to-end commercial product that attracts people to the airline, and makes them come back for more. It’s our job to make sure we’ve got the right products for the right customers right time and to drive revenue per seat sold. We’re responsible for delivering both short term profitability and long-term customer value. Commercial innovation is critical to how we move the airline forward it’s more than just retaining our competitive advantage it’s the way we will disrupt the industry and lead the industry. Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is

  • Manage the development of easyJet’s long-term product strategy and revenue pipeline
  • To manage easyJet’s products across their lifecycle, from identification and implementation of new propositions, to tracking of live products and ongoing refinement.
  • To manage associated customer-facing information, including the alignment of terms and conditions, and FAQs.
  • To ensure coherence and alignment between easyJet’s core flight products and its non-flight propositions.
  • Management and long-term development of a proposition executive
  • Provide an effective interface between the Proposition team and the rest of the organisation

Job Accountabilities

  • Working alongside easyJet’s head of proposition to develop and deliver easyJet’s long term proposition strategy including identification and deliver of ancillary and partnership initiaves
  • In partnership with the senior ancillary trading manager, is responsible for the management of easyJet’s owned ancillary product portfolio (bags, seats and fees & charges) ensuring that business is effectively using all available levers (price, product, place, promotion) to optimise ongoing performance
  • Responsible for identifying and creating compelling, innovative customer value propositions responding to commercial and customer demands
  • Harness customer insight and financial data to feed proposition innovation, optimisation, initiative ideation and change
  • Leads and maintains competitor research to inform and support future product evolution and decision-making.
  • Accountable for recommending commercial, ancillary and proposition policies e.g. change fee
  • Define the initiatives that will form part of the annual plan as well as manage change in-year
  • Ancillary SME business lead for revenue generative programmes including Phoenix and CORE. This includes the definition of deliverables and working with the project teams on the development of initiatives until launch
  • Work cross-functionally with trading teams to ensure we are optimising ancillary revenue performance using all our levers to the best of our ability. Own the optimisation of the owned ancillary portfolio outside pricing. I.e.: the product, place and promotion.
  • Lead ongoing product audits and enhance processes to power continuous improvement and better ways of working
  • Responsible for developing talent and leading by example
  • Manage team members to help create and sustain a high-performing function

  • Project management – you can coordinate complex cross-functional teams to deliver results. This includes planning, stakeholder engagement, delivery and tracking
  • Strategic acumen – ability to understand insights, competitor and market trends, and set a direction
  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills
  • Effective – you can deliver commercial change at pace and can work well under pressure. You can progress multiple initiatives at the same time whilst prioritising effectively.
  • Strong relationship management skills with proven ability to influence behaviour within large organisations at a senior level.
  • You are customer obsessed, a proactive communicator and have a sharp attention to detail
  • Good understanding of data and how it can be harnessed to drive business decision making
  • Dynamic and innovative personal style that inspires others
  • Creative problem solver, a self-starter, with can-do attitude, flexible and adaptable, comfortable in a fast-changing environment
  • European language proficiency is an advantage. (i.e. French, German, Spanish, Italian)
  • Excellent IT skills – Word, Excel and PowerPoint literate.
  • Airline experience and understanding of the European Short Haul market is an advantage
