Working as part of the Technology & Transformation team on some of the airline’s cross-functional programmes, with a typical project value of £5m+, you’ll be responsible for the successful delivery of a programme of work to achieve the desired outcome.

You’ll work closely and collaboratively with business owners up to CEO / EVP / SVP level to provide high quality programme delivery expertise, demonstrating outstanding change management and outcome delivery experience.

Day to Day

Some of your key responsibilities as our Programme Manager will be:

  • In collaboration with with our award winning ePMO support the sponsor to turn a target operating model into a set of programme deliverables.
  • Facilitate the definition of programme scope, goals and deliverables ensuring these and their constituent projects and work-streams are agreed with stakeholders and sponsor.
  • Establish the overall programme structure, governance and roles and responsibilities and ensure project managers and work-stream owners are held to account on delivery.
  • Manage the expectations of the stakeholders during the programme, highlighting any variances to the original plan and escalating these as needed. Being proactive in resolving conflict between senior stakeholders where it is compromising delivery.
  • Ensure the plans are developed in conjunction with the other teams from within the department and third party suppliers so that they are able to plan the work into their schedules.
  • Manage the programme finances and monitor spend against the approved project budget on a monthly basis; showing actual, committed and forecasts to completion.
  • Identify and manage time, cost, quality and scope compromises. Ensuring that variances to the agreed plan are escalated to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Lead a team of up to up to 20 indirect reports, coaching/ mentoring the project team members in effective project delivery.

About you

Are you an experienced Programme Manager within the aviation industry?

In addition to the above, we’re looking for our successful Programme Manager to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrable experience in delivery of work to time, cost and quality objectives.
  • Experience of working effectively with a wide variety of departments and people at all levels within the organization.
  • Experience of working within a diverse and complex organisation. Airline experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.
  • The ability to confidentially manage a team of delivery resources in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and manage across functional boundaries to deliver complex change projects.
