As the Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for working with key stakeholders to understand relevant Qantas Group business needs and objectives. You are an experienced procurement professional who can think strategically and have a track record of delivering value to the business. You will think innovatively, have deep knowledge of procurement processes to challenge the status quo. You must be collaborative but also work with significant autonomy. With an entrepreneurial spirit you will be responsible for leading sourcing activities for relevant categories within a complex organisation, including the creation and execution of RFx events in line with the Category Strategy.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 5 + years strategic sourcing, category management and procurement experience, including at least 2 years leading category management and sourcing activity.
  • Advanced analytical, influencing, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated the ability to influence and convince stakeholders, build effective business relationships with diverse groups of people
  • Prepare for and lead complex negotiations
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrable ability in running cross functional projects/teams, delivering outcomes in a time sensitive environment.
  • Knowledge of marketing, indirect, contingent labour categories will be highly beneficial.
