The Manager, Transformation & Change will be a key contributor to the Engineering leadership team and be responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of transformation opportunities. Reporting to the Head of Base Maintenance and Component Maintenance Services the position will identify, evaluate and contribute to the delivery of business strategy by driving a range of transformation initiatives to deliver the strategic goals of Group and Qantas Engineering.

Key duties will include:

  • Lead continuous improvement change programs by partnering with senior leaders (such as Operational Delivery and Production Engineering & customer) to ensure strategy is translated into key results areas (KRAs)
  • Conduct strategic assessments and develop innovative strategic recommendations for large scale transformation initiatives and translate these into operationally deliverable plans
  • Partner with Business Operations to identify roadblocks to productivity and articulate continuous improvement change programs
  • Manage change outcomes to optimise business readiness using business data to conduct analysis to identify lead and lag indicators
  • Contribute to portfolio leadership briefings (including preparation of briefing packs & contributing to heat maps) indicators that support strategy
  • Collaborate with support partners including corporate finance & network to address program risks and issues
  • Be the key contact with engineering senior leaders to ensure they drive and deliver transformation and sustainable change.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Understanding of airline operations, maintenance/compliance (highly desirable)
  • Significant experience in a complex matrix organisation
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering projects with demonstrated examples of key milestones being successfully delivered
  • Sound knowledge of project and change management initiatives
  • Exposure to Agile methodology
  • Significant experience with data and analytics in Management Consulting would be highly valued
  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Commerce, Business Management or equivalent
  • Exceptional professionalism and strong ability to ‘make things happen
  • Strong ability to drive a team and provide leadership
  • Ability to create and present a concept and delivers tangible benefits
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skill
  • Ability to travel interstate as required.
