Position Summary

This role is critical to driving strategic revenue initiatives and special projects across the Revenue Management & Network Planning department and beyond. The role focuses on implementing new travel products and optimizing existing processes to drive passenger revenue at Hawaiian Airlines. Projects range in focus from implementation of new travel programs to design and improvement of internal processes to application of decision science for business decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team responsible for defining and executing ancillary product strategy and initiatives for assigned product areas such as Extra Comfort, Premium Cabin Upgrades, Bags, Neighbor Island Travel Program, etc.
  • Partner and work with cross functional teams to deliver a cohesive marketing strategy
  • Leverage data to develop strategy and analyses on product performance, industry trends and key market drivers
  • Work with departments across the Hawaiian Airlines organization to ensure sales and marketing placements and other touch points are being utilized successfully
  • Actively proxies for Director in meeting with all Commercial counterparts to monitor progress on joint projects, planning, coordination, implementation and analysis of actions relevant to department and/or assigned market group entities
  • Present new product initiatives and build business case for executive review
  • Project manage and prioritize product needs with business owners and IT resources
  • Report performance metrics to Commercial stakeholders on an ongoing basis to promote collaboration in analysis and optimization across product lines
  • Benchmark products in the marketplace, ensuring competitiveness and making recommendations for improvements
  • Manage relationships with vendors and IT supporting the product application, infrastructure, availability and implementation
  • Serve as product subject matter expert to corporate projects and initiatives
  • Working in a coordinated effort with Director to achieve Department goals, lead, develop, mentor and evaluate team members
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Five years of relevant work experience in analytical/quantitative roles such as market research, product marketing, statistics, financial analysis, revenue management or consulting
  • Knowledge and understanding of product management concepts, combined with knowledge of data tools & analysis techniques
  • Ability to analyze performance and results of products/initiatives and develop business cases for new product opportunities, enhancements or improvements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, partners and management
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong, demonstrated problem solving skills involving both business problems and people interactions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate information accurately, clearly, professionally and concisely
  • Track record of using analysis to drive results and improve performance
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other analytical tools
  • Proven strategic thinking and successful execution coordination

 

Preferred Qualifications

Graduate degree in business administration or quantitative/technical field (Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, etc.), or equivalent experience

  • Experience in the airline or travel related industries
  • E-commerce or direct marketing experience
  • Working knowledge of data visualizations platforms such as Tableau or Power BI
