About the job

The ideal candidate will facilitate the sales development for an assigned region to support online sales development and Emirates’ E-Commerce objectives in line with the overall commercial strategy, across all online channels including mobile sites, apps and online travel agents. This includes assessing market and sales conditions to optimise the revenue intake from the digital channels incl. promotional activity and payment platforms in order to improve the penetration of eCommerce sales across the assigned region. Co-ordinate activity between representatives within E-Commerce and with all relevant departments such as Local stations, CCMB, Commercial Operations, Revenue Optimisation and Skywards etc. to ensure all strategic and promotional activities, products, services and ancillaries are utilised to their full potential in order to meet applicable online targets set for the department.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for all commercial elements of the e-commerce sales function for the designated region, including all online channels and mobile platforms.
  • Ensure that assigned sales and revenue targets for the region are achieved.
  • This also involves negotiating fares and commercialising all new products and services online in order to achieve overarching targets for revenue, mobile share, self-service etc.

Sales Development

  • Plan and lead a regional E-Commerce strategy in line with strategic and tactical sales activity and support its development and implementation with relevant stakeholders across all platforms including mobile.
  • Develop, implement and drive the online strategic business plan to provide direct sales and OTA channel revenue and to achieve distribution cost savings, ensuring recommendations are sought from Sales Managers and that business cases introduce and/or review the pricing strategy including benchmarking to provide a value proposition to the channel.
  • Plan, develop, and manage local promotional online sales campaigns using online sales force tools. Work with Corporate Communications to market these offers across all advertising mediums. Provide post tactical campaign analysis with recommended application of learning to future campaigns. Enable the implementation of all new online features, sales tools, fulfilment and payment processes and ensure that they are customer focused and in place according to guidelines
  • Review regional online travel product developments and provide recommendations and best practice of appropriate modification that improves online conversions. Review the accuracy and quality of regional web sites.
  • Manage the provision of accurate weekly/monthly reporting and identify trends and opportunities to engage commercial business factions across Emirates i.e local Country and Sales Managers, E-Commerce, Revenue Optimisation, Skywards and Corporate Communications. Identify opportunities including Closed User Groups and implement to support the Commercial objectives. Maintain, interpret and communicate online performance measurements, consolidating insight from tools including Business Intelligence and Google Analytics.
  • Ensure that assigned markets are properly serviced from a strategic point of view. In cooperation with the local office, design a country strategy, setting KPI’s, continuously review activities, report on performance and actively advise on opportunities leading to higher Online penetration.
  • Recommend and co-ordinate where necessary competitive analysis, customer needs analysis and market research. Monitor the success of all commercial strategies and alter strategy as necessary to achieve the commercial the commercial targets for the online channels.
  • Work with the online systems and operations team to ensure that call centres, sales teams and senior management are informed of E-Commerce developments and are fully able to exploit them including payment methods.
  • Develop and manage business relationships and negotiate commercial agreements and contracts with key commercial partners to drive higher Online penetration

Qualifications:

Degree in Business, Digital or Marketing

Experience:

Extensive (8years+) experience in an e-Commerce / digital environment.

  • Solid understanding of online sales
  • Advance understanding of E-commerce and associated products/services/systems, besides best practices in distribution, retail and merchandising would be an added advantage.
  • A systematic and logical approach to problem solving and a capacity to work around problems.
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to a fast changing environment.
  • Strong negotiating and influence skills
  • Strong analytical skills
