In this exciting role you will be the primary liaison between the Air Canada Distribution team and our Distribution partners, responsible for managing all aspects of the relationship. You will work with internal stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that help Air Canada expands its retailing strategy. Maintain relationships with existing distribution partners, seek out and create relationships with new distribution partners of value to Air Canada

Act as a subject matter expert for current tools and features, and assess trends in current technology areas for alignment with Air Canada corporate objectives

Work internally and externally with all relevant stakeholders to communicate current opportunities and address current challenges

Increase adoption of Air Canada’s direct API distribution by acquiring new technology partners

Job description:

Identify opportunities for enhancements to Air Canada products distributed through partner channels

Provide input into partner development and assist with prioritization related to the Air Canada product

Manage day to day relationships with existing distribution partners

Actively develop new partnerships with distribution technology providers

Participate in new partner development to the AC NDC API

Act as an advisor and subject matter expert to guide and support partners to optimize booking tool displays to maximize revenue from the channel

Work with all distribution partners to identify optimal tool/platform settings

Leverage internal data  related to NDC partner performance to ensure maximization of key metrics:

decreasing distribution cost

increased margin

increased revenue per booking

improved product mix

increased ancillary attachment rate

Work with partner agencies to ensure they deploy distribution solutions that support AC content, and solve issues and remove obstacles to maximize sales potential of the channel

Provide support to internal Global Sales team members in the form of

Monthly presentations outlining updates to distribution channels

One on one training with new Sales Managers

Key metrics: Execution and delivery of objectives within the agreed timelines and budgets which will be linked to one or more of the following:

Contribution to revenue/market growth objectives

Support of merchandising and product integrity strategy

Successful implementation of new Air Canada products into the appropriate distribution channels

Ancillary sales and upsell success

Contribution to global expansion strategies

Customer satisfaction

Contribution to reduction of reported issues


Sound working experience in the airline industry

understanding of the dynamics of airline distribution, including GDS and direct distribution

Working knowledge of distribution systems, including NDC, Altea, GDS and XML-API

Strong communication skills

Strong management skills with a demonstrated ability to influence others

Forward thinker, with an ability to foster innovation in others

Critical thinking with an ability to identify and understand problems and propose solutions

Strong analytical/problem solving skills

Strong business case development and cost benefit analysis skills

Excellent interpersonal skills; must be a team player and have the ability to work with diverse groups and working styles

Self-starter, able to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously as well as work under pressure, in changing priorities and tight deadlines under limited supervision

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with multiple levels of the organization
